A causa di processi infiammatori o traumatici il dente può perdere la sua vitalità. Questo processo può essere asintomatico o presentarsi con ascessi, mobilità e dolore.
Il trattamento endodontico consiste nella rimozione del tessuto pulpare irreversibilmente danneggiato, la decontaminazione dei canali radicolari e la sigillatura degli stessi mediante materiale inerte.
Lo scopo dell’endodonzia è l’eliminazione del dolore, la preservazione delle strutture che circondano il dente ed il recupero di elementi irreparabilmente compromessi come alternativa alla terapia implantare.

Due to inflammatory or traumatic processes, the tooth may lose its vitality. This process may be asymptomatic or present with abscess, mobility and pain. Endodontic treatment consists in the removal of irreversibly damaged pulp tissue, decontamination of root canals and sealing of the same by inert material. The purpose of endodontics is the elimination of pain, the preservation of the structures surrounding the tooth and the recovery of irreparably compromised elements as an alternative to implant therapy.
